Visitors: Jean Davidson Founder of Yell and Tell and Bayside Police Chief Bruce Resnick.
Brian Boyd called meeting to order at 5:32.
Chief Resnick gave in depth presentation of security camera proposal at the intersection of N. Port Washington rd and Brown Deer Road. Currently at $9,000 raised with a goal of $22,000. Department has sold raffle tickets as well as approached local businesses for support. Chief has also applied for grants to help fund. Questions that were brought up by the FP Foundation board; has privacy issue been addressed by Bayside Village attorney? What is the position of the Fox Point Village Board? Who will pay for maintenance?
Jean Davidson gave an overview of the Yell and Tell program. Several different cirriculums. Fire, water, and child enticement. Program would be for elementary students in Fox Point. Recommended that Jean should check with the PTO regarding assistance with funding of the program. Cost is approxmatly $1.00 per student.
Review of Minutes from 09/03/09 meeting. Matt move to approved second by Josh, minutes approved.Treasurer’s report – Matt reported current balance of $22,793.60 in the Foundation account. Distribution of $364.76 was made for the carmel apples and cider at the last day of the farmers market. Contributions will be addresses at next meeting.
President’s report – Joan Wessel is resigning from the Foundation board due to scheduling conflict. Next meeting is December 3rd the annual meeting for the Foundation Board. Members should think about officer positions. Announcement will be placed on Foundation website as well as at Fox Point Village Hall.New Business – Brian received letter from LX Club seeking $300 funding for new computer. Marilyn is going to check with LX club to find out what funds the LX Club currently has available.
Exsisting Business –
A. Fox Point Farmers Market, Jim and Mary LaCahrite would like help with business consulting. Chris will contact them to try and steer them in the right direction. Jim and Mary are considering hiring a manager to help with the farmers market, this may lead to additional support requests from the FP Foundation.
B. Matt reviewed the bylaws. Members should review and will vote on at next meeting. Village liason – try to get Village Board president to attend annual FP Foundation meeting.
C. Josh working with Jill to contact new residents and deliver welcome bags.
